NEW! Artist’s Guide To Successful Art Fairs - click here

Welcome!

I invite you to discover paintings that explore how we shape, contain and bring nature in to our lives - from wild landscapes to city gardens and kitchen tables.

Through observation and using intuition, I capture the essence and beauty of fruit, flowers, pollinators and other creatures to highlight their vital role in our existence. Using bold colours and rich textures, balanced by uncluttered compositions, I create still life paintings which present a refined view of reality.

My commitment to an environmentally-conscious art practice extends beyond my subjects: I repurpose materials and tools e.g. I paint dandelions with needles, dahlias with straws and poppies with palette knives crafted from disused milk cartons.

flowers

I aim to capture an essence rather than a literal interpretation of each subject. With a dandelion, for instance, I use needles to capture their distinctive petals whereas poppies require a different technique for which I make ‘palette knives’ from recycled plastic.

CREATUREs

Inspired by snorkelling in the Mediterranean, visits to food markets overseas and trips around the UK my work has expanded to include pollinators, fish and other creatures. Sardines, mackerel, ladybirds and bees featured in 2025 and there will be more to see in 2026.

FRUIT

My fruit paintings encourage the viewer to ‘see’ fruit in new ways. The scale of the work and intensity of colour draws the viewer to take a closer look. People often say how realistic they first appear, but look a little closer to discover more ‘painterly’ brush strokes.
