In this original poppy painting I have paired the vibrant flower heads with a soft denim blue background and added a crisp white base to give this painting a light and breezy feel.

I have created it using acrylic on board, with homemade palette knives and some brushwork. It has been finished with three coats of professional artist varnish in a satin finish. This protects the artwork from UV light and dust, and allows it to be framed without glass, so the textures and maker's-marks can be fully appreciated.
