I have long been inspired by the work of Mary Fedden and in particular, her still life paintings. My artistic interest was further heightened when I discovered that we have both lived in the same part of Bristol. She could have been a neighbour had we lived here at the same time!

‘Milk or Lemon?’ is an imagined scene blending the intimacy of domestic life with a kitchen table, lemons, two mugs and a milk jug, surrounding a jug of cheap tulips. It’s as though Mary were about to join me for a cuppa and I’m trying to impress her, but not overdo it!
