With orange, pink and purple poppies against a calm blue background, this was pure joy to paint! I am uplifted by working with vibrant colours. Painting in thick layers of textured paint in a style called ‘impasto’ the poppies stand proud of the background and this is framed in the ‘St Ives’ style without glass, so the textures may be fully appreciated.
