Green is a colour I am just beginning to introduce in to my work for 2024 and I am enjoying pairing green with various colours. In this painting, the richly textured crimson and blush poppies are set against a deep green background which contrast with the brighter green stems. The vase is painted in my signature style - sparingly - with minimal paint to give the suggestion of light bouncing off and through the water and glass.

Framed in the ‘St Ives’ style in a white wooden double frame without glass, built by my expert framer in Bristol. The painting is protected from UV rays and dust by several coats of professional artist varnish.
