Golden Dance
Seeing the extraordinary in ordinary objects such as two pears is my aim with this large painting. The simple pair of pears is elevated with a gold leaf background, to super-charge the pears’ intrinsic beauty.
The use of gold leaf was inspired by seeing icon paintings of saints on a recent trip to Italy. The subjects appear to be supporting one another, as in a dance.

The artwork has been sealed with 3 coats of professional artist varnish to stop discolouration of the Dutch metal gold leaf, and to protect it from UV light and dust.
It is sold framed in the white, wooden, ‘St Ives’ style double frame made by my expert framer in Bristol.
