Meet Me At The Lighthouse

Meet Me At The Lighthouse
Meet Me at the Lighthouse draws upon the legacy of the St Ives School and my lifelong connection to Cornwall, where sketchbooks filled with sea-washed light and coastal horizons have long inspired my work. This imagined scene blends the intimacy of domestic life with the expansiveness of the sea beyond. On a kitchen table, pears rest in a bowl beside a lemon, while lilies in a striped jug, anchor the composition with freshness and vitality. The eye is drawn past the mug on the windowsill to a distant lighthouse on the headland, a beacon of memory and invitation. The rhythmic geometry of tiled floor and patterned wall play against organic forms, balancing stillness with movement. Infused with colour, texture, and a quiet sense of longing, this painting becomes a meeting place between home and horizon, interior and exterior, the everyday and the timeless.
