Fish Platter with Olives and Lemons

Fish Platter with Olives and Lemons
Often food looks so good that we photograph it. I have tried to capture such a moment with this painting of a fish plattter. This imagined dish is very familiar from meals in Spain and Italy (in my case usually ordered with salad and fries!).
I like how fish skin is transformed by light which I have tried to capture through colour and the impasto application of paint to produce a textured effect. The bold stripes of the ceramic platter contrast with the soft pink of the table cloth.
