A fresh and colourful take on poppies, painted in a abstracted form. The thick impasto application of paint makes the flower heads stand proud of the deep green background giving this large painting a highly textured feel.

Smooth brushwork for the background and impasto application for the flowers, stems and vase ensures the viewer sees contrasts in textures as well as in colours.
