This painting is inspired by beautiful English herbaceous border, ‘Night Garden’ is about and of the garden - made using hand-made implements rescued from recycling bins and found in the garden shed including bamboo canes, bits of string, rubber bands, ‘palette knives’ made from cut up plastic plant pots plus sponges and garden fleece! It includes loose references to lupins, fuchsias, cornflowers and other varieties. I have incorporated many layers and processes including mono-printing from leaves and sticks to add texture and authenticity.
