If you like a luxurious look, this colourful poppy painting with its rich dark blue and gold leaf background, could fit the bill!

The thick impasto application of paint makes the poppies stand proud of the blue behind and the gold table top lifts the whole composition.

I have used smooth brushwork for the background and impasto application for the flowers, stems and vase so the viewer sees contrasts in textures as well as in colours.
